Description

Glass ampoules are filled and sealed using an Onion Skin Ampoule Filer. The pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetic, veterinary, and chemical industries all make extensive use of machines. We create Ampoule Filling and Sealing Machines using both our standard model and custom models based on the unique needs of our clients.

The machine is designed to accommodate a wide range of ampoule neck dimensions, thicknesses, and ovality of available ampoules by using the principle of slant travel of ampoules during filling and sealing. Biological indicators and ampoules with a diameter of 6 to 15 mm and a length of 55 to 150 mm are supported. Contamination is prevented since the Onion Skin Ampoule Filler Sealer Machine operates without human touch during the filling and closing of onion skin ampoules. The Onion Skin Ampoule Filling Machine can produce 200 ampoules every minute. While SS 304 is used for non-contact parts, SS 316 is used for contact parts. The machine saves energy and materials by immediately stopping its activation if there are no ampoules. This equipment is mostly used in the chemical industry.

The Ampoule Filling and Sealing Machine is constructed on a square pipe frame made of stainless steel and is completely covered in stainless steel with a beautiful matt finish. The machine’s bottom side has a large opening area designed for thorough cleaning and maintenance. For convenience and security, the pendant-style electrical control panel is raised off the machine.

Working Principle of Onion Skin Ampoule Filler

The sterilized ampoule tray directly loaded in to slant hopper of the unit. The Synchronized star wheel delivers ampoules, one by one on moving eccentric ampoule rack in single/double/four/six/eight. During the movement of ampoule machine perform below mentioned operations:

 

  • Pre-gassing with Nitrogen

 

  • Filling the product

 

  • Post Gassing with Nitrogen

 

  • Pre-heating with LPG & Oxygen combination

 

  • Sealing with LPG & Oxygen combination

 

At the end duly filled and sealed ampoules get collected automatically onto collection tray of the machine. Ampoules now can be collected for further inspection and/or sticker labeling operations.

  • Purpose and Applications: The machine is engineered to fill and seal onion skin ampoules, which are commonly used for packaging agro-insecticides, veterinary medicines, cosmetics, and chemicals. It is also suitable for biological indicator tubes used in specific biomedical applications, such as mobile detection systems where ampoules are crushed to mix chemicals with a swab for detecting residues.

 

  • Construction: Built on a stainless steel square pipe frame, the machine is encased in stainless steel with a matte finish, ensuring durability, hygiene, and compliance with cGMP and FDA standards. A large bottom opening facilitates easy cleaning and maintenance.

 

  • Filling Mechanism: Operates on a volumetric piston-pump or peristaltic pump system, achieving high precision (up to 1% accuracy) for filling volumes ranging from 0.2ml to 25ml in a single dose. Some models offer servo-driven or mechanical piston pump options for enhanced control.

 

  • Sealing Process: Uses oxygen and LPG (propane) or oxyhydrogen gas (generated via water electrolysis, replacing traditional gas cylinders) for flame sealing. Specially designed burners accommodate thin glass (0.3mm–0.8mm), with pre-warming and rotation stations ensuring uniform sealing. Burned-off ampoule tips are clipped and ejected into a separate container.

 

  • Output Capacity: Depending on the model (single, double, four, six, or eight-head), production rates range from 10 to 250 ampoules per minute.

 

  • Ampoule Handling: Supports ampoules with a minimum diameter of 7mm and height of 55mm, with no upper limit for size, as machines can be customized. The slant travel design accommodates variations in ampoule neck dimensions, thickness, and ovality.

 

  • Gas Flushing: Features nitrogen or argon flushing before and after filling to ensure product stability and sterility.

 

  • Automation and User-Friendly Design: Equipped with a synchronized star wheel and eccentric rack system, ampoules are fed from a hopper, transferred to a transport rack, and processed in batches (1/2/4/6/8 ampoules per stroke). The machine includes a “No Ampoule – No Filling” system, pre-heating stations, and a dead tray for upright collection of sealed ampoules. Format parts can be changed by hand without tools, and a pendant-type electrical control panel enhances operational ease.
