Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine

Description

Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine was designed to fill a range of liquids with viscosities from free-flowing to heavy oils for the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and cosmetic sectors. This gadget is filled with injectable, sterile liquids used in the pharmaceutical business. The device is primarily utilised in research and development labs and pilot plants for liquid injection development. The ampoule filling machine ensures that every action is precise and effective. It solves differences in ampoule neck dimensions and thicknesses of standard ampoules and is built on the principle of slant movement of ampoules during filling and sealing. Our glass ampoule filling and sealing equipment can fill a wide range of containers, such as ampoules, vials, glass tubes, onion skin tubes, and many more. The filling unit is built on a S. S. Square pipe frame and is entirely covered by S. S. The coverings have a lovely matt feel, and there is a large opening on the bottom side for thorough washing.

Automatic feeding, transfer, pre-post nitrogen purging, material filling, heating, and sealing are all carried out and controlled by this state-of-the-art equipment. Expensive materials can feed precisely and waste-free thanks to the integrated “No Ampoule, No Filling” feature. With a single dosage filling efficiency of 0.5 ml to 25 ml, the mechanism can fill 1 ml to 25 ml open mouth glass ampoules. The range of filled production is 10 to 25 ampoules per minute, depending on the ampoule size.

Ampoule filling and sealing operations utilising ampoule filling and sealing equipment are based on the angle motion of ampoules. It takes into account several parameters, including neck size, thickness, and ampoule quality. It’s a great combination of sealer, filler, and flusher. The rectangular feeding system, which has replaced conventional ampoule feed, is one of the most important and sought-after features of our system. This increases the stability of ampoules and prevents them from breaking.

  • Loading: Empty, pre-sterilized syringes or ampoules are loaded into a hopper or conveyor.

  • Filling: A precise volume of liquid is dispensed via a pump or piston system, often with nitrogen flushing to maintain sterility.

  • Sealing: Syringes are stoppered, or ampoules are sealed using gas flames or vacuum systems, with pre-warming to ensure quality seals.

  • Inspection: Automated checks for fill accuracy, particle presence, and container integrity.

  • Ejection: Filled and sealed containers are collected in trays for further processing or packaging.

Working Principle of Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine

Empty washed & sterilized ampoules fed into in-feed hopper from the left hand side of the machine to receiving rack. The moving rack which moves horizontally collect one ampoule from the receiving rack and transfer the ampoule to the machine in left to right in an inclined position through pre-gassing. Pre-gassing, Filling, Post Gassing, Pre-heating & sealing stations completes filling & sealing operations. Filled & sealed ampoules are collected automatically in SS tray in upright position without hand touch.

The machine performs the following operations:

  • Ampoule feeding by in-feed hopper, cassettes and ampoule transfer into transport rack.

  • One ampoule advanced per machine stroke.

  • Centering of ampoules necks during pre-heating, post heating, gas flushing and liquid filling.

  • Rotation of ampoules neck in the pre- heating and heating station.

  • Elimination of burdened-off ampoule tips by clippers and ejection into a separate container.

Ensures sterile, precise filling and sealing, maintaining product integrity.

Key Features of Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine

  • Operation: Empty, sterilized ampoules are loaded into an in-feed hopper and transferred to a transport rack via a star wheel. The machine performs sequential operations: pre-gassing (often with nitrogen), filling, post-gassing, pre-heating, and sealing. Filled and sealed ampoules are collected automatically in an upright position without manual handling.

  • Capacity: Suitable for filling 1ml to 25ml ampoules with a filling range of 0.5ml to 25ml in a single dose.

  • Material: Contact parts are typically made of high-quality Stainless Steel 316L, and non-contact parts use Stainless Steel 304, ensuring compliance with cGMP standards.

  • Design: Built on a stainless steel square pipe frame with a matt finish, featuring a large bottom opening for easy cleaning and maintenance. A pendant-type electrical control panel enhances operational ease and safety.

  • Nitrogen Flushing: Offers optional nitrogen gas flushing before, during, and after filling to prevent oxidation and ensure product stability.

  • Sealing: Uses oxygen and LPG (propane) for precise sealing, with rollers rotating ampoules during sealing for uniform closure. Waste glass tips are clipped and ejected into a separate container.

  • Applications: Widely used for filling injectable liquids, veterinary medicines, agro-insecticides, and cosmetic products.

FAQ for Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine

The Single Stroke Ampoule Filling Machine (Model AFS-30) has an output of up to 25 ampoules per minute (approximately 1,500–1,800 ampoules per hour, depending on ampoule size). It can handle 1 ml to 30 ml glass ampoules with a filling range of 0.5 ml to 25 ml in a single dose. The machine supports open-mouth ampoules and offers quick changeover with minimum change parts for different sizes (especially 1 ml to 20 ml).

The machine works on the slant movement principle. Pre-sterilized ampoules are loaded into the hopper and transferred one by one via a rectangular feeding system. In each stroke, the ampoule goes through synchronized stations:

  • Pre-gassing (nitrogen flushing) with neck centering
  • Precise volumetric filling
  • Post-gassing (optional nitrogen flushing)
  • Pre-heating and flame sealing using LPG & Oxygen burners while the ampoule rotates for a uniform hermetic seal

Filled and sealed ampoules are automatically collected in an SS tray without human contact. It includes a “No Ampoule – No Fill” system to avoid wastage.

Key features include:

  • Compact cGMP model with SS 316L contact parts and SS 304 non-contact parts
  • “No Ampoule – No Filling” system
  • Pre & post nitrogen flushing facility
  • Pre-warming station for perfect sealing
  • Flow meters for easy flame regulation
  • High filling accuracy of ±1% (optimizable to ±0.5%)
  • Low power consumption (0.5 HP) and easy maintenance

Benefits: It is highly suitable for low-to-medium volume production, reduces product wastage, ensures excellent sterility, requires minimal changeover time, and is easy to clean and operate — making it cost-effective for R&D, pilot plants, and small-scale injectable manufacturing.

Yes, the machine is fully cGMP compliant and built with high-quality stainless steel to meet pharmaceutical standards. It requires LPG & Oxygen for sealing and can be integrated with laminar airflow for a Class 100 environment. Maintenance is straightforward due to full accessibility, minimal moving parts, and easy cleaning design. We provide detailed operation manuals, operator training, and prompt after-sales support with spare parts availability to ensure long-term reliability and minimal downtime.
